The following is an indication of the number of full-time and part-time faculty. Full-time faculty members teach one or more Advertising or Public Relations courses per year and derive their primary income from teaching.
Ferris State University was founded on the principles of grit, hard work and excellence. Its unique focus goes beyond theory to practical, real-world experience. Students gain working knowledge so when they enter the workplace, they begin contributing from day one.
The Ferris public relations program is counted among the best in the country. It was the first in the U.S. to offer PR as a business degree (still one of only two in the nation). Additionally, Ferris was the first PR program in the state of Michigan to gain national certification from PRSA. The curriculum boasts more PR-specific courses than any institution in Michigan. The student organization (PRSSA) is vibrant and active, offering a student-run PR firm and several opportunities for professional development. The curriculum offers small class sizes with professors who have real-world experience giving the program a professional, yet family atmosphere.
