The following is an indication of the number of full-time and part-time faculty. Full-time faculty members teach one or more Advertising or Public Relations courses per year and derive their primary income from teaching.
Regional comprehensive public university on the shores of Lake Superior. A student population of 9-10,000 enjoys small class sizes, a dynamic faculty, and an outstanding natural environment. NMU was the first "laptop" university in the country, developed the nationally recognized WiMax to bring wireless broadband to a regional constituency, and is the cultural center of the UP in Michigan.
The Department of Communication and Performance Studies (CAPS) includes 4 majors beyond Public Relations (i.e., Communication Studies, Media Production & New Technology, Multimedia Journalism, and Theatre). The Public Relations major consists of 3 tracks: General Public Relations, Environmental Public Relations, and Sports Public Relations.
